The Hall was officially opened in March 2010 by Kathryn Tickell a renowned musician and former Stonehaugh resident.
Now complete, occupied and enjoyed by many, the Community Hall provides a focal point for village life and a centre that underpins community groups within the village and surrounding areas.
The building also provides a venue for groups and organisations within the North Tyne area. Why not come to Stonehaugh to have your next business meeting, and combine this with a team building event, gentle walk or cycle ride on one of the many trails and tracks surrounded by the beauty of Wark forest in an idyllic location called Stonehaugh...
Stonehaugh Community Hall is constructed of Scandinavian pine sitting on conventional concrete and block foundations. It is heated using ground sourced heat and 10 large photovoltaic panels that produce up to 10kw of electricity per day.
The Hall has 3 principle areas available for use by groups, residents and visitors. This comprises of two upstairs rooms located off a mezzanine floor which overlooks the hall main area. The main hall area has two distinct parts. One half is more informal with a bar and adjacent reception area, whilst the remainder of the room is available to be used in any way a group would like such as formal meetings, exercise classes or a band/dance floor. Adjacent to this is a kitchen area which can provide hot or cold meals when required.
